Fly doors-off over Kauai’s waterfalls, Waimea Canyon, the Nā Pali Coast, and lush valleys on a private 75-minute helicopter tour.

About this tour

Take to the skies for a private, doors-off helicopter flight over Kauai, where waterfalls spill down emerald cliffs and the island’s rugged valleys open beneath you. This 75-minute Kauai Doors-Off Helicopter Tour brings you close to some of the island’s most striking landscapes.

After a 10-minute pilot safety briefing, fly over Manawaiopuna Falls, known as the Jurassic Park falls, then look down into Olokele Canyon and Waimea Canyon, the Grand Canyon of the Pacific. The route may reveal the 2,000-foot Waipoʻo Falls, the towering sea cliffs and hidden valleys of the Nā Pali Coast, and the sculpted green landscape of Hanalei Valley. You may also see the Wall of Tears at the Waiʻaleʻale crater. Routes and flight patterns can change with weather conditions.

With a private experience and a live English-speaking pilot, you can take in Kauai’s dramatic scenery from a remarkable aerial perspective. Meet at the Lihue Airport Commuter Terminal, listen to the safety briefing, and get ready to see the island from above.

How this score is calculated

This score is based on one provider. Viator rates it 4.97 from 1,825 reviews. We place that rating among all Viator ratings and weight it by its review count. If the tour is found on another provider later, both ratings are combined.

How the score works and rating distribution in Kauai
  • Each provider rating is turned into a percentile: the share of that provider's ratings it beats, weighted by review counts.
  • Listings on different providers are combined in proportion to their review counts.
  • Tours with few reviews are pulled toward the average until more reviews come in, so a handful of perfect reviews can't top the list.
  • The result is shown from 0 to 10: this tour scores 9.5. Top 1% in Kauai means it ranks in the top 1% of tours in Kauai by this score.
