Explore Maui’s beaches at your own pace with offline GPS audio, local stories, and scenic stops along the route.
About this tour
Discover Maui’s shoreline on a self-guided driving tour that pairs beach scenery with stories of surfing and Hawaiian legends. With your own car and phone, explore at a relaxed pace, stopping for a swim, a picnic, photos, or a walk whenever a spot catches your eye.
The route begins at Kamalii Park in Kahului, and you can also join along the route shown in the app. GPS-triggered audio plays as you travel, sharing local stories and hidden gems while maps and scenic stops help you plan. Download the tour in advance and it works offline, so you can follow along without Wi-Fi or cellular service. One purchase covers everyone in your vehicle, and lifetime access means you can revisit the tour on another trip.
Set up the separate Tour Guide app by Action before you leave, then let the stories guide your Maui Beach Parks Self-Guided Driving Tour. Check local road conditions and opening hours before setting out, and make time for the beaches that invite you to linger.

How this score is calculated
This score is based on one provider. Viator rates it 4.67 from 6 reviews. We place that rating among all Viator ratings and weight it by its review count. If the tour is found on another provider later, both ratings are combined.
How the score works and rating distribution in Maui
- Each provider rating is turned into a percentile: the share of that provider's ratings it beats, weighted by review counts.
- Listings on different providers are combined in proportion to their review counts.
- Tours with few reviews are pulled toward the average until more reviews come in, so a handful of perfect reviews can't top the list.
- The result is shown from 0 to 10: this tour scores 6.9.
