Learn wheel throwing in a welcoming Maui pottery class and shape your own mug or bowl to remember your island visit.

About this tour

Shape a lasting Maui memory from a lump of clay in this welcoming, hands-on pottery class. Over 120 minutes, learn the basics of wheel throwing and make your own mug or bowl.

Your instructor guides the group through the key stages of the process: centering the clay, opening it, and pulling the walls upward. After each demonstration, you’ll have time to practice before the class moves on together. The focus is on wheel throwing, with the option to adapt the class to your preferences. Aprons, pottery wheels, and clay are provided, so you can concentrate on learning and creating.

The studio is in a back house across from the tennis courts. Park in the driveway to the right of the front house, then walk past the basketball hoop to reach it. Book your Maui pottery class and enjoy a creative break with friends or family.

How this score is calculated

This score is based on one provider. Viator rates it 5.00 from 4 reviews. We place that rating among all Viator ratings and weight it by its review count. If the tour is found on another provider later, both ratings are combined.

How the score works and rating distribution in Maui
  • Each provider rating is turned into a percentile: the share of that provider's ratings it beats, weighted by review counts.
  • Listings on different providers are combined in proportion to their review counts.
  • Tours with few reviews are pulled toward the average until more reviews come in, so a handful of perfect reviews can't top the list.
  • The result is shown from 0 to 10: this tour scores 7.3. Top 50% in Maui means it ranks in the top 50% of tours in Maui by this score.
