Hear Hawaiian star stories and explore Maui’s night sky through a telescope on a private, 90-minute stargazing experience.

About this tour

Spend 90 minutes beneath Maui’s night sky on a private stargazing experience led by a personable astronomy guide. As stars emerge above the island, hear Hawaiian mythologies and learn the names of the celestial sights overhead.

Take your time looking through the telescope, with little waiting. Larger groups receive two or three telescopes. The comfortable viewing spot is near the ocean and luxury resorts, and cushioned chairs make it easy to settle in and enjoy the night. The experience is wheelchair accessible and suitable for all fitness levels.

Your guide will confirm the meeting location and send directions by 7 pm on the evening of the tour. If weather conditions are poor at the planned spot, you’ll receive instructions for an alternate location. Transportation is not provided. Choose this Maui Private Stargazing Experience for a personal evening of island stories and skywatching.

How this score is calculated

This score is based on one provider. Viator rates it 5.00 from 2 reviews. We place that rating among all Viator ratings and weight it by its review count. If the tour is found on another provider later, both ratings are combined.

How the score works and rating distribution in Maui
  • Each provider rating is turned into a percentile: the share of that provider's ratings it beats, weighted by review counts.
  • Listings on different providers are combined in proportion to their review counts.
  • Tours with few reviews are pulled toward the average until more reviews come in, so a handful of perfect reviews can't top the list.
  • The result is shown from 0 to 10: this tour scores 7.2.
