About this tour
Follow the flavors of the French Quarter through more than 300 years of New Orleans culinary history. This 3-hour New Orleans food tour pairs local dishes with the stories behind the city’s ingredients, cooking traditions, and celebrated chefs.
Meet across the street from the Gumbo Shop, where the first tasting introduces gumbo, a classic dish shaped by African, Caribbean, and French influences. Along the way, learn how New Orleans cooking evolved and hear about the chefs who helped make its food famous. Tastings may include po’boys or muffulettas, pralines, beignets, and café au lait. Restaurant service water is available; other beverages are at your own expense.
Created by Chef Keith Abel, a food stylist for all seven seasons of the television series NCIS: New Orleans, this New Orleans food tour brings culinary history to the table. Come hungry for local flavors and the stories that make them memorable.
