See Sadie Sink in a sharp Broadway comedy as a Georgia high school class questions the story of The Crucible.

About this tour

See Sadie Sink star in John Proctor Is the Villain, a bitingly funny Broadway play that turns a familiar American classic on its head. Set in a high school in a small Georgia town, the story follows an English class studying The Crucible while its students contend with young love, sex education, and school scandals.

As the class questions the play’s perspective and whether John Proctor deserves his reputation as a hero, a new generation begins to challenge the stories it has inherited. Kimberly Belflower’s comedy captures young people in a moment of change, fueled by pop music, optimism, and fury. Tony Award winner Danya Taymor directs.

How this score is calculated

This score is based on one provider. GetYourGuide rates it 5.00 from 3 reviews. We place that rating among all GetYourGuide ratings and weight it by its review count. If the tour is found on another provider later, both ratings are combined.

How the score works and rating distribution in New York City
  • Each provider rating is turned into a percentile: the share of that provider's ratings it beats, weighted by review counts.
  • Listings on different providers are combined in proportion to their review counts.
  • Tours with few reviews are pulled toward the average until more reviews come in, so a handful of perfect reviews can't top the list.
  • The result is shown from 0 to 10: this tour scores 7.3. Top 38% in New York City means it ranks in the top 38% of tours in New York City by this score.
