See a Cold War chess rivalry unfold on Broadway with a celebrated ABBA score, a stellar cast, and dazzling choreography.
About this tour
Step into the charged atmosphere of the Cold War with New York Chess the Musical on Broadway, where a World Chess Championship becomes a contest of love, loyalty, and political power. This reimagined production stars Lea Michele, Aaron Tveit, and Nicholas Christopher in a story that brings personal rivalries and international tensions to the stage.
As the U.S. and Soviet players face off, a love triangle complicates the competition. The show pairs its dramatic story with a celebrated score by ABBA’s Benny Andersson and Björn Ulvaeus, including “One Night in Bangkok” and “I Know Him So Well.” Dazzling choreography and striking set designs add spectacle to the performance, while a new book by Danny Strong and direction by Michael Mayer shape this Broadway revival.
Your ticket is for the musical performance; transportation, food, and merchandise are not included. Head to the theater at 249 W 45th St and present your mobile ticket at the entrance. How this score is calculated
This score is based on one provider. GetYourGuide rates it 4.92 from 9 reviews. We place that rating among all GetYourGuide ratings and weight it by its review count. If the tour is found on another provider later, both ratings are combined.
How the score works and rating distribution in New York City
- Each provider rating is turned into a percentile: the share of that provider's ratings it beats, weighted by review counts.
- Listings on different providers are combined in proportion to their review counts.
- Tours with few reviews are pulled toward the average until more reviews come in, so a handful of perfect reviews can't top the list.
- The result is shown from 0 to 10: this tour scores 7.6. Top 25% in New York City means it ranks in the top 25% of tours in New York City by this score.
