Move through a two-hour immersive Phantom of the Opera musical, following the story across rooms inspired by the Paris Opera House.

About this tour

Step into the mystery of The Phantom of the Opera with Masquerade, an immersive musical experience in New York City. Rather than watching from a traditional seat, you move through a walk-through production inspired by the Paris Opera House as the story unfolds around you.

Over approximately two hours, follow the music and drama across multiple rooms and floors in an intimate group of up to 60 guests. The production brings you close to the action, with atmospheric haze and strobe effects adding to the theatrical setting. A black, white, or silver mask is required, and a complimentary mask is available if you arrive without one. Eveningwear in those colors is encouraged, though not required.

New York City’s immersive Phantom of the Opera musical offers a distinctive way to experience this familiar story. Plan for stairs and escalators, arrive at your scheduled entry time, and have the password sent before your visit ready for the whole party. Book your entry and step into the world of Masquerade.

How this score is calculated

This tour scores 5.00 on Viator and 4.86 on GetYourGuide. Ratings on these sites cluster near the top of the 5-star scale, so we compare each one with all other ratings on the same site before combining them.

How the score works and rating distribution in New York City
  • Each provider rating is turned into a percentile: the share of that provider's ratings it beats, weighted by review counts.
  • Listings on different providers are combined in proportion to their review counts.
  • Tours with few reviews are pulled toward the average until more reviews come in, so a handful of perfect reviews can't top the list.
  • The result is shown from 0 to 10: this tour scores 7.9. Top 17% in New York City means it ranks in the top 17% of tours in New York City by this score.
