Sail New York Harbor aboard Schooner America, passing Ellis Island and the Statue of Liberty with a complimentary beverage.

About this tour

Set sail on New York Harbor aboard Schooner America, a graceful 105-foot vessel inspired by the yacht that won the America’s Cup in 1851. With teak decks, mahogany trim, and broad sails overhead, this day sail offers a relaxed way to take in the city from the water.

Departing from Pier 62 at Chelsea Piers, the crew raises sail as you settle in with a complimentary beverage. The route passes Manhattan’s towering financial district, Ellis Island, and the Statue of Liberty, with open harbor views along the way. The sailing experience lasts approximately 1.75 to 2 hours, and an English-speaking live guide accompanies the trip.

Choose this New York day sail for an easygoing outing with family or friends, and see familiar landmarks from a fresh perspective. Book your place aboard Schooner America and enjoy the harbor at sailboat pace.

How this score is calculated

This tour scores 4.83 on Viator and 4.96 on GetYourGuide. Ratings on these sites cluster near the top of the 5-star scale, so we compare each one with all other ratings on the same site before combining them.

How the score works and rating distribution in New York City
  • Each provider rating is turned into a percentile: the share of that provider's ratings it beats, weighted by review counts.
  • Listings on different providers are combined in proportion to their review counts.
  • Tours with few reviews are pulled toward the average until more reviews come in, so a handful of perfect reviews can't top the list.
  • The result is shown from 0 to 10: this tour scores 8.8. Top 6% in New York City means it ranks in the top 6% of tours in New York City by this score.
