Sail the Hudson aboard an 80-foot schooner, passing Manhattan’s skyline, Ellis Island, and the Statue of Liberty.

About this tour

See New York from the water aboard the Schooner Adirondack, an 80-foot, two-masted sailing vessel inspired by 1890s pilot schooners. This New York City sailboat cruise offers a relaxed way to take in the harbor and the city’s landmark skyline.

Departing from Pier 62 at Chelsea Piers, the crew raises sail and guides the schooner along the Hudson River. Watch Manhattan’s towering financial district rise above the waterfront, then sail past Ellis Island and the Statue of Liberty. The experience lasts between 1 hour 45 minutes and 2 hours, and includes one complimentary beverage. A live English-speaking guide accompanies the cruise, while the open-water views offer a memorable perspective on the city’s famous sights.

Children are welcome when accompanied by an adult, and the experience is suitable for all physical fitness levels. Check in at the Classic Harbor Line ticket booth on Pier 62 before boarding. Settle in, feel the harbor breeze, and enjoy a New York City sailboat cruise past some of the city’s most recognizable landmarks.

How this score is calculated

This tour scores 4.87 on Viator and 4.94 on GetYourGuide. Ratings on these sites cluster near the top of the 5-star scale, so we compare each one with all other ratings on the same site before combining them.

How the score works and rating distribution in New York City
  • Each provider rating is turned into a percentile: the share of that provider's ratings it beats, weighted by review counts.
  • Listings on different providers are combined in proportion to their review counts.
  • Tours with few reviews are pulled toward the average until more reviews come in, so a handful of perfect reviews can't top the list.
  • The result is shown from 0 to 10: this tour scores 8.8. Top 5% in New York City means it ranks in the top 5% of tours in New York City by this score.
