Learn to catch, handle, and measure crabs on Assawoman Bay, then keep any legal-size crabs for a meal after your Ocean City trip.
About this tour
Try a hands-on crabbing adventure on Assawoman Bay with OC Bay Hopper, the only trip in Ocean City, Maryland, described as offering this experience. Depart from the 118th Street location and head onto the bay with a captain who shows you how to find and catch crabs.
The captain provides the crabbing equipment and bait, then demonstrates how to use it. You’ll also learn how to handle and measure your catch so you can identify which crabs meet legal size requirements. Those legal-size crabs are yours to keep and enjoy later for lunch or dinner. This 150-minute Ocean City crabbing tour combines time on the water with practical guidance, making the experience about more than simply watching the scenery.
Check in at the kiosk in Ocean City Square, beside the Food Lion near the canal, before setting out. Book your Ocean City crabbing tour for a memorable taste of local bay life.

How this score is calculated
This score is based on one provider. Viator rates it 5.00 from 8 reviews. We place that rating among all Viator ratings and weight it by its review count. If the tour is found on another provider later, both ratings are combined.
How the score works and rating distribution in Ocean City
- Each provider rating is turned into a percentile: the share of that provider's ratings it beats, weighted by review counts.
- Listings on different providers are combined in proportion to their review counts.
- Tours with few reviews are pulled toward the average until more reviews come in, so a handful of perfect reviews can't top the list.
- The result is shown from 0 to 10: this tour scores 7.5. Top 24% in Ocean City means it ranks in the top 24% of tours in Ocean City by this score.
