Hike at sunset, enjoy a picnic dinner, and watch thousands of stars emerge on a private Joshua Tree evening tour.

About this tour

Watch Joshua Tree shift from sunset colors to a sky filled with stars on a private evening hike and stargazing tour. Your guide tailors the outing to your group, leading a sunset walk through the park before setting the scene for a relaxed dinner outdoors.

As darkness settles, take in the vast night sky during astronomical twilight, when thousands of stars come into view. Settle into a comfortable outdoor living area with chairs, blankets, and oversized pillows, then enjoy dessert as you gaze upward. Private transportation, park entry, an air-conditioned vehicle, and a private medically trained naturalist guide are included. Dinner is prepared with local grocers, and dietary requests can be accommodated with advance notice.

Spend eight hours exploring, unwinding, and looking up. Book your Joshua Tree sunset and stargazing tour for a memorable night beneath the desert sky.

How this score is calculated

This score is based on one provider. Viator rates it 5.00 from 1 review. We place that rating among all Viator ratings and weight it by its review count. If the tour is found on another provider later, both ratings are combined.

How the score works and rating distribution in Palm Springs
  • Each provider rating is turned into a percentile: the share of that provider's ratings it beats, weighted by review counts.
  • Listings on different providers are combined in proportion to their review counts.
  • Tours with few reviews are pulled toward the average until more reviews come in, so a handful of perfect reviews can't top the list.
  • The result is shown from 0 to 10: this tour scores 7.1.
