Explore royal Fontainebleau and festive Vaux-le-Vicomte, with private transportation, Christmas decorations, and seasonal activities.

About this tour

Discover two grand French châteaux on a festive day trip from Paris. This 525-minute private tour pairs the royal history of Fontainebleau with the Christmas celebrations at Vaux-le-Vicomte.

At Fontainebleau, explore the residence known as the “true house of Kings,” where French monarchs lived from the Middle Ages onward. Then continue to Vaux-le-Vicomte, where Christmas brings the château to life with elaborate decorations and seasonal activities. Put on the red velvet cape provided for the occasion and enjoy the festive atmosphere. Children can take part in a treasure hunt, while visitors of all ages can watch The King Is Coming show.

Private transportation connects the two estates, making it easy to enjoy both in one outing. Lunch is not included, so plan accordingly. For a memorable taste of French history and holiday tradition, book this Paris Christmas châteaux tour.

How this score is calculated

This score is based on one provider. Viator rates it 5.00 from 1 review. We place that rating among all Viator ratings and weight it by its review count. If the tour is found on another provider later, both ratings are combined.

How the score works and rating distribution in Paris
  • Each provider rating is turned into a percentile: the share of that provider's ratings it beats, weighted by review counts.
  • Listings on different providers are combined in proportion to their review counts.
  • Tours with few reviews are pulled toward the average until more reviews come in, so a handful of perfect reviews can't top the list.
  • The result is shown from 0 to 10: this tour scores 7.1. Top 49% in Paris means it ranks in the top 49% of tours in Paris by this score.
