Explore Normandy’s D-Day beaches, battle remnants, and countryside on a customizable private tour with hotel pickup from Paris.

About this tour

Travel from Paris into Normandy’s moving D-Day landscape on a private tour shaped around your interests. With hotel pickup and a knowledgeable multilingual guide for the day, you can explore key sites such as Omaha Beach and Pointe du Hoc at your own pace.

Along the way, encounter reminders of the battle, including a Sherman tank, cannons, and a genuine World War II bunker. The journey also reveals another side of Normandy: apple-tree-lined roads, green pastures, and traditional villages. Your guide can recommend local restaurants for lunch, where you can try regional specialties such as Camembert; lunch is not included. If you wish, arrange a visit with a local producer to taste cider, Pommeau, Calvados, and apple juice.

Private transportation, skip-the-line access, and bottled water help make the day comfortable. Choose a Paris D-Day Beaches Private Tour for a personal way to connect with the history and countryside of Normandy.

How this score is calculated

This score is based on one provider. Viator rates it 4.91 from 117 reviews. We place that rating among all Viator ratings and weight it by its review count. If the tour is found on another provider later, both ratings are combined.

How the score works and rating distribution in Paris
  • Each provider rating is turned into a percentile: the share of that provider's ratings it beats, weighted by review counts.
  • Listings on different providers are combined in proportion to their review counts.
  • Tours with few reviews are pulled toward the average until more reviews come in, so a handful of perfect reviews can't top the list.
  • The result is shown from 0 to 10: this tour scores 8.2. Top 9% in Paris means it ranks in the top 9% of tours in Paris by this score.
