Hear Notre-Dame’s history and admire its Gothic details on a guided exterior tour, then explore the cathedral interior independently.

About this tour

Discover Notre-Dame Cathedral with an expert guide who brings its Gothic architecture, centuries of history, and remarkable restoration to life. This 60-minute Paris Notre-Dame Cathedral Guided Tour begins outside the landmark, where you’ll hear stories about its magnificent façade, soaring towers, gargoyles, and world-famous rose windows.

After the exterior tour, continue inside for an independent visit at your own pace. Take time to appreciate the cathedral’s interior and architectural details. The tour meets at the Statue de Charlemagne et ses Leudes in the square just in front of Notre-Dame on Île de la Cité; look for a guide holding a board marked Uncle Sam Tours. Public transportation options are available nearby.

Choose the Sainte-Chapelle option for skip-the-line access there. Notre-Dame entry is not skip-the-line or reserved, and cathedral tower access and transportation are not included. Join this Paris Notre-Dame Cathedral Guided Tour for an engaging introduction to one of France’s most celebrated landmarks, then explore its interior on your own.

How this score is calculated

This score is based on one provider. Viator rates it 4.63 from 16 reviews. We place that rating among all Viator ratings and weight it by its review count. If the tour is found on another provider later, both ratings are combined.

How the score works and rating distribution in Paris
  • Each provider rating is turned into a percentile: the share of that provider's ratings it beats, weighted by review counts.
  • Listings on different providers are combined in proportion to their review counts.
  • Tours with few reviews are pulled toward the average until more reviews come in, so a handful of perfect reviews can't top the list.
  • The result is shown from 0 to 10: this tour scores 6.7.
