Explore Notre-Dame’s Gothic exterior and restored interior with an expert guide, and hear the stories behind its history and architecture.

About this tour

See Notre-Dame de Paris from its storied exterior to its remarkable interior on a guided visit to the heart of Île de la Cité. Over two hours, an expert English-speaking guide brings the cathedral’s Gothic details and history into focus, from its sculpted portals and Gallery of Kings to the flying buttresses. Then step inside to take in soaring vaulted ceilings, luminous stained glass, and the restoration that followed the 2019 fire. Your guide shares stories of figures including Napoleon and Victor Hugo; commentary pauses inside the cathedral, where talking is not allowed. Entry is free, and you’ll enter with your guide, though queues can reach 45 minutes during peak seasons. Meet at the Charlemagne statue in front of the cathedral, arriving 30 minutes before your tour. Afterward, you’re well placed to continue exploring Île de la Cité, the nearby Latin Quarter, Sainte-Chapelle, and the Seine. How this score is calculated

This tour has no TourTruth score yet: Viator doesn't show a usable rating for it. It gets a score as soon as a provider lists one.

How the score works
  • Each provider rating is turned into a percentile: the share of that provider's ratings it beats, weighted by review counts.
  • Listings on different providers are combined in proportion to their review counts.
  • Tours with few reviews are pulled toward the average until more reviews come in, so a handful of perfect reviews can't top the list.
  • The result is shown from 0 to 10. Tours without a usable provider rating are not scored.
