Explore Notre-Dame’s Gothic exterior with a local guide, then enter at a reserved time to discover the cathedral interior at your own pace.

About this tour

Discover Notre-Dame Cathedral’s Gothic details and layered history on a semi-private Paris Notre-Dame Cathedral guided tour. With a local guide, circle the exterior to hear about its medieval origins, famous gargoyles, architecture, and restoration after the 2019 fire. The group is limited to 8 guests, giving you room to take in the stories and details at an easy pace.

After the outdoor introduction, your guide escorts you to the entrance for pre-reserved timed entry. This is not skip-the-line access: visitors must pass through security screening, and waits can vary. Once inside, explore independently, taking in the soaring nave, stained-glass windows, and restored interior at your own pace. The guided portion lasts 90 minutes, with the interior visit self-guided.

Choose this Paris Notre-Dame Cathedral guided tour for an informative exterior walk paired with time to experience the cathedral on your own. Arrive 15 minutes early and dress respectfully for this active place of worship.

How this score is calculated

This score is based on one provider. Viator rates it 1.00 from 1 review. We place that rating among all Viator ratings and weight it by its review count. If the tour is found on another provider later, both ratings are combined.

How the score works and rating distribution in Paris
  • Each provider rating is turned into a percentile: the share of that provider's ratings it beats, weighted by review counts.
  • Listings on different providers are combined in proportion to their review counts.
  • Tours with few reviews are pulled toward the average until more reviews come in, so a handful of perfect reviews can't top the list.
  • The result is shown from 0 to 10: this tour scores 7.0.
