Ride south from Rome for coastal views, free time in Positano and a stroll through Amalfi on a small-group day tour.

About this tour

Travel south from Rome for a day among the dramatic cliffs and seaside towns of the Amalfi Coast. This small-group Amalfi Coast and Positano day tour pairs a high-speed train journey to Naples, when you choose the Rome departure, with a scenic minivan drive along the coast.

With a local tour leader, take in views of the coastline before enjoying free time in Positano. Explore its streets at your own pace, with the option to stop for lunch, then continue to Amalfi and wander its narrow lanes. The relaxed schedule leaves room to discover both towns independently, while the drive brings the coast’s steep slopes and sea views into focus. Amalfi is a UNESCO World Heritage Centre, and both stops offer time to experience their distinct character.

Meet fellow travelers and enjoy a full day away from the city on this Amalfi Coast Positano small-group day tour. Check your email for the exact meeting point and time, sent one week before departure, and book your place for a scenic escape to southern Italy.

How this score is calculated

This score is based on one provider. Viator rates it 4.86 from 7 reviews. We place that rating among all Viator ratings and weight it by its review count. If the tour is found on another provider later, both ratings are combined.

How the score works and rating distribution in Rome
  • Each provider rating is turned into a percentile: the share of that provider's ratings it beats, weighted by review counts.
  • Listings on different providers are combined in proportion to their review counts.
  • Tours with few reviews are pulled toward the average until more reviews come in, so a handful of perfect reviews can't top the list.
  • The result is shown from 0 to 10: this tour scores 7.2. Top 48% in Rome means it ranks in the top 48% of tours in Rome by this score.
