Travel from Rome through Assisi, Roccaporena, and Cascia on a private day tour of basilicas and places linked to Saint Francis and Saint Rita.

About this tour

Travel from Rome into Umbria on a private 12-hour journey through Assisi, Roccaporena, and Cascia. Your driver picks you up at your hotel or apartment, and a tour assistant accompanies you throughout the day. In Assisi, visit the Basilica of Santa Maria degli Angeli and the Porziuncola, then explore the medieval streets and the basilicas of San Francesco and Santa Chiara. Access to the Upper Basilica is always allowed, while the Lower Basilica and Crypt are closed to visitors from February 15 to April 6. You may also visit the church where the body of Blessed Carlo Acutis rests, subject to waiting times and visitor numbers. After free time for lunch, continue to Roccaporena, Saint Rita’s birthplace, and discover places connected with her life. The day ends in Cascia at the Basilica that houses her body and the monastery dedicated to the “Saint of the Impossibles.” Private transportation, Wi-Fi, and a comfortable air-conditioned vehicle make the long route easier. How this score is calculated

This score is based on one provider. Viator rates it 5.00 from 14 reviews. We place that rating among all Viator ratings and weight it by its review count. If the tour is found on another provider later, both ratings are combined.

How the score works and rating distribution in Rome
  • Each provider rating is turned into a percentile: the share of that provider's ratings it beats, weighted by review counts.
  • Listings on different providers are combined in proportion to their review counts.
  • Tours with few reviews are pulled toward the average until more reviews come in, so a handful of perfect reviews can't top the list.
  • The result is shown from 0 to 10: this tour scores 7.8. Top 16% in Rome means it ranks in the top 16% of tours in Rome by this score.
