Explore Pompeii with a local guide, then visit Positano and Amalfi on a small-group day trip from Rome along the scenic coast.

About this tour

Leave Rome behind for a full-day journey to Pompeii and the Amalfi Coast. With a small group of no more than 7 or 8 people per van, travel south in an air-conditioned vehicle and enjoy a more personal day on the road.

At Pompeii, walk through the ancient city with a local guide and see its remarkable streets and ruins. Then take in the coastal scenery as the route follows the Amalfi Coast road, with visits to Positano and Amalfi. Admission tickets to Pompeii, a tour leader or driver-guide, and a local Pompeii guide are included, so you can focus on the history and landscapes along the way.

This Rome Amalfi Coast and Pompeii tour brings together archaeological discovery and seaside views in one day. Book your place and experience two of southern Italy’s best-known destinations on a guided trip from Rome.

How this score is calculated

This score is based on one provider. Viator rates it 5.00 from 1 review. We place that rating among all Viator ratings and weight it by its review count. If the tour is found on another provider later, both ratings are combined.

How the score works and rating distribution in Rome
  • Each provider rating is turned into a percentile: the share of that provider's ratings it beats, weighted by review counts.
  • Listings on different providers are combined in proportion to their review counts.
  • Tours with few reviews are pulled toward the average until more reviews come in, so a handful of perfect reviews can't top the list.
  • The result is shown from 0 to 10: this tour scores 7.1. Top 48% in Rome means it ranks in the top 48% of tours in Rome by this score.
