Skip the line at Rome’s Borghese Gallery and explore Caravaggio, Bernini, and Canova’s masterpieces with an English-speaking guide.

About this tour

Step into the Borghese Gallery, where Caravaggio’s dramatic canvases and Bernini’s expressive sculptures fill the rooms of a former villa. This 2-hour Rome Borghese Gallery Guided Tour pairs skip-the-line entry with an English-speaking guide who brings the collection’s stories and artistic details into focus.

Meet your guide outside the gallery entrance, then explore highlights including Caravaggio’s Young Sick Bacchus, Bernini’s David and Apollo and Daphne, and Canova’s Paolina Bonaparte. As you move through the richly decorated rooms of the Casina Borghese, admire the frescoes and learn about the artists and the Borghese family collection. Headsets help you follow the commentary as you view the works at close range.

The gallery stands in a building separate from Villa Borghese Park, so be sure to meet at the gallery entrance. Large bags and luggage are not permitted inside; only small belt bags and clutches up to 21 x 15 cm are allowed. Choose this Rome Borghese Gallery Guided Tour for a focused, art-filled visit to one of the city’s celebrated collections.

How this score is calculated

This score is based on one provider. Viator rates it 4.43 from 86 reviews. We place that rating among all Viator ratings and weight it by its review count. If the tour is found on another provider later, both ratings are combined.

How the score works and rating distribution in Rome
  • Each provider rating is turned into a percentile: the share of that provider's ratings it beats, weighted by review counts.
  • Listings on different providers are combined in proportion to their review counts.
  • Tours with few reviews are pulled toward the average until more reviews come in, so a handful of perfect reviews can't top the list.
  • The result is shown from 0 to 10: this tour scores 5.4.
