Explore Bernini, Caravaggio, and Raphael with a private guide on a 3-hour Borghese Gallery tour in Rome.

About this tour

Step into the Borghese Gallery for an intimate look at some of Rome’s most celebrated art. On this 3-hour Rome Borghese Gallery Private Tour, a professional guide leads you through the collection, with works by Bernini, Caravaggio, and Raphael among the highlights. The gallery occupies the historic Villa Borghese Pinciana, once built as a country villa on the edge of Rome.

Explore the collection at a personal pace with a private guide and skip-the-line tickets. The gallery’s holdings reflect the passion of Cardinal Scipione Borghese, an early patron of Bernini and an avid collector of Caravaggio. Look for paintings including Boy with a Basket of Fruit, St Jerome Writing, and Sick Bacchus, alongside sculpture and other works. Your tour start time will be sent by email.

Meet your guide at the gallery entrance and arrive at least 10 minutes early. Bring an identity card or passport, and check bags in the museum cloakroom before the visit. Book the Rome Borghese Gallery Private Tour to experience this remarkable collection with expert guidance and time to focus on the art.

How this score is calculated

This score is based on one provider. Viator rates it 5.00 from 8 reviews. We place that rating among all Viator ratings and weight it by its review count. If the tour is found on another provider later, both ratings are combined.

How the score works and rating distribution in Rome
  • Each provider rating is turned into a percentile: the share of that provider's ratings it beats, weighted by review counts.
  • Listings on different providers are combined in proportion to their review counts.
  • Tours with few reviews are pulled toward the average until more reviews come in, so a handful of perfect reviews can't top the list.
  • The result is shown from 0 to 10: this tour scores 7.5. Top 22% in Rome means it ranks in the top 22% of tours in Rome by this score.
