Leave Rome for Capri, explore the island with a guide, and glide by paddle boat through the luminous Blue Grotto.

About this tour

Escape Rome for a full day on Capri, where vivid blue water, island lanes, and the famous Blue Grotto make a memorable change of scene. Travel south from the city, continue by hydrofoil from Sorrento, and explore Capri and Anacapri with a licensed guide, local minibus transfers, and time to wander at your own pace.

The highlight is a paddle boat ride inside the Blue Grotto, with its luminous water and dramatic cave walls. You’ll also take a funicular from Capri town to Marina Grande and visit the island’s celebrated Piazzetta. This Rome Capri Island day trip with Blue Grotto combines guided walks and independent exploring in one carefully arranged outing. The itinerary and timing can vary with conditions, and rough seas may prevent access to the grotto; in that case, the entrance fee is refunded or replaced with an island boat tour.

Meet your Gray Line guide near Flaminio Metro station in Rome, then set out for a day of island scenery and discovery. Choose this Rome Capri Island day trip with Blue Grotto for a chance to experience Capri’s signature sights in a single day.

How this score is calculated

This score is based on one provider. Viator rates it 1.00 from 1 review. We place that rating among all Viator ratings and weight it by its review count. If the tour is found on another provider later, both ratings are combined.

How the score works and rating distribution in Rome
  • Each provider rating is turned into a percentile: the share of that provider's ratings it beats, weighted by review counts.
  • Listings on different providers are combined in proportion to their review counts.
  • Tours with few reviews are pulled toward the average until more reviews come in, so a handful of perfect reviews can't top the list.
  • The result is shown from 0 to 10: this tour scores 7.0.
