Explore the Appian Way and the Catacombs of San Sebastiano on a semi-private electric golf cart tour through historic Rome.

About this tour

Ride through Rome’s layered history on a semi-private electric golf cart tour along the Appian Way, one of the city’s most storied ancient roads. Rome Catacombs & Appian Way Golf Cart Tour pairs open-air sightseeing with a guided visit beneath the surface.

Meet at the Wheel Tours office on Via Urbana and travel toward the Appian Way, where the route passes historic landmarks including the Church of Domine Quo Vadis and the Circus of Maxentius. Visit the Catacombs of San Sebastiano with an included entrance ticket, and use the provided headsets to hear the guide. Bottled water is included for the ride. The tour also offers views of notable Roman sights such as the Basilica of San Sebastiano Fuori le Mura, the Pyramid of Cestius, the Circus Maximus, and the Theatre of Marcellus, as described by the provider.

With a semi-private group and an electric cart, Rome Catacombs & Appian Way Golf Cart Tour brings together ancient roads, underground history, and city landmarks. Arrive at the meeting point about 15 minutes before departure and get ready to see Rome from a different perspective.

How this score is calculated

This tour has no TourTruth score yet: Viator doesn't show a usable rating for it. It gets a score as soon as a provider lists one.

How the score works
  • Each provider rating is turned into a percentile: the share of that provider's ratings it beats, weighted by review counts.
  • Listings on different providers are combined in proportion to their review counts.
  • Tours with few reviews are pulled toward the average until more reviews come in, so a handful of perfect reviews can't top the list.
  • The result is shown from 0 to 10. Tours without a usable provider rating are not scored.
