About this tour

Step into the world of emperors and gladiators on a private Rome Colosseum and Ancient Rome tour. Over three hours, explore the Colosseum with a live English-speaking guide, visiting its upper and lower levels and hearing about the spectacles, discipline, and history that made this arena a symbol of the city. Continue to the Roman Forum and Palatine Hill for a guided look at the heart of ancient Rome. Your guide provides the entry tickets on the day, while the private format offers a more personal way to take in these landmark sites. Meet outside the lower-level exit of Colosseo Metro station, across from the Colosseum, and arrive early for the on-time departure. How this score is calculated

This score is based on one provider. Viator rates it 4.12 from 17 reviews. We place that rating among all Viator ratings and weight it by its review count. If the tour is found on another provider later, both ratings are combined.

How the score works and rating distribution in Rome
  • Each provider rating is turned into a percentile: the share of that provider's ratings it beats, weighted by review counts.
  • Listings on different providers are combined in proportion to their review counts.
  • Tours with few reviews are pulled toward the average until more reviews come in, so a handful of perfect reviews can't top the list.
  • The result is shown from 0 to 10: this tour scores 6.2.
