Explore the Colosseum with an experienced guide, lively Roman history, time for questions and photos, and a relaxed 105-minute pace.

About this tour

Explore the Colosseum with a guide who makes Roman history clear, lively, and easy to follow. With more than 10 years of experience, David Battaglino leads this 105-minute Rome Colosseum Arena Walking Tour with time to listen, ask questions, and take in the setting.

The tour focuses exclusively on the Colosseum rather than combining several ancient sites into a hurried march. Hear stories that bring the landmark’s past to life, pause for photos, and enjoy a more relaxed pace with fellow travelers. Radio systems help you listen to the guide, and the meeting point is in the shade of the Arch of Constantine, marked by a pirate flag.

How this score is calculated

This score is based on one provider. Viator rates it 5.00 from 14 reviews. We place that rating among all Viator ratings and weight it by its review count. If the tour is found on another provider later, both ratings are combined.

How the score works and rating distribution in Rome
  • Each provider rating is turned into a percentile: the share of that provider's ratings it beats, weighted by review counts.
  • Listings on different providers are combined in proportion to their review counts.
  • Tours with few reviews are pulled toward the average until more reviews come in, so a handful of perfect reviews can't top the list.
  • The result is shown from 0 to 10: this tour scores 7.8. Top 16% in Rome means it ranks in the top 16% of tours in Rome by this score.
