Step through Gladiator’s Gate on a guided Rome tour of the Colosseum arena, upper levels, Roman Forum, and Palatine Hill.

About this tour

Enter the Colosseum through Gladiator’s Gate and step onto the arena floor where ancient spectacles unfolded. This 3-hour Rome Colosseum Gladiator Arena Tour pairs close-up access with the sweeping views of the monument’s upper levels, bringing the scale and stories of ancient Rome into focus.

With a guide, explore the Colosseum’s upper and lower levels, then continue to the Roman Forum and Palatine Hill. The route may begin at the Forum or the Colosseum, and the order can change because of local restrictions. Along the way, your guide shares stories that give context to the ruins and the arena. Colosseum admission with arena access and the reservation fee are included, as are guided visits to the listed sites.

Bring identification that matches the names on your booking, arrive 15 minutes early, and travel light: large bags and several prohibited items cannot enter the Colosseum. Make time for the Rome Colosseum Gladiator Arena Tour and see these landmark ruins from both the arena floor and above.

How this score is calculated

This score is based on one provider. Viator rates it 4.11 from 9 reviews. We place that rating among all Viator ratings and weight it by its review count. If the tour is found on another provider later, both ratings are combined.

How the score works and rating distribution in Rome
  • Each provider rating is turned into a percentile: the share of that provider's ratings it beats, weighted by review counts.
  • Listings on different providers are combined in proportion to their review counts.
  • Tours with few reviews are pulled toward the average until more reviews come in, so a handful of perfect reviews can't top the list.
  • The result is shown from 0 to 10: this tour scores 6.6.
