Explore the Colosseum, Roman Forum, and Palatine Hill on a 3-hour guided tour through the landmarks of ancient Rome.

About this tour

Step into the world of ancient Rome on a 3-hour Rome Colosseum group tour, where the stones of the arena and the ruins beyond tell stories of emperors, gladiators, and everyday life. With a live English-speaking guide, explore the Colosseum and learn about its construction under the Flavian emperors and the battles staged inside. The tour also takes you through the Roman Forum and up Palatine Hill, bringing three landmark sites together in one experience.

Your guide provides the Colosseum entry ticket and leads the visit through its lower and upper levels. The route may begin at the Forum and continue to the Colosseum, or follow the reverse order; local restrictions can also affect the itinerary. Allow extra time for security checks, and arrive early at the meeting point by the lower-level exit of Colosseo Metro Station.

See ancient Rome’s most celebrated landmarks with a guide who connects their ruins to the stories behind them. Book your Rome Colosseum group tour and explore the city’s past on foot.

How this score is calculated

This score is based on one provider. Viator rates it 4.00 from 9 reviews. We place that rating among all Viator ratings and weight it by its review count. If the tour is found on another provider later, both ratings are combined.

How the score works and rating distribution in Rome
  • Each provider rating is turned into a percentile: the share of that provider's ratings it beats, weighted by review counts.
  • Listings on different providers are combined in proportion to their review counts.
  • Tours with few reviews are pulled toward the average until more reviews come in, so a handful of perfect reviews can't top the list.
  • The result is shown from 0 to 10: this tour scores 6.6.
