Explore the Colosseum, Palatine Hill, and Roman Forum with a licensed guide on a three-hour journey through ancient Rome.

About this tour

Explore ancient landmarks and vivid Roman stories on a guided Rome Colosseum, Palatine Hill and Roman Forum tour. Over about three hours, a licensed guide leads the way through sites that shaped the city, sharing tales of gladiators, emperors and Roman engineering. Headsets help you follow the commentary, even in crowded areas.

Depending on ticket times, the route begins at either the Colosseum or the Roman Forum and Palatine Hill. At the Colosseum, look out over the arena from above and imagine the spectacles once staged below. Continue to Palatine Hill, associated with Rome’s beginnings and imperial palaces, then descend to the Roman Forum, once a center of political and social life. The order may vary, but each stop offers a close look at the layers of ancient Rome.

Choose the ticket option that suits your visit, and check whether it includes Arena access; the external walking-tour option does not include Colosseum entry. Book your Rome Colosseum, Palatine Hill and Roman Forum tour and discover the stories behind the ruins with an expert guide.

How this score is calculated

This score is based on one provider. Viator rates it 4.67 from 70 reviews. We place that rating among all Viator ratings and weight it by its review count. If the tour is found on another provider later, both ratings are combined.

How the score works and rating distribution in Rome
  • Each provider rating is turned into a percentile: the share of that provider's ratings it beats, weighted by review counts.
  • Listings on different providers are combined in proportion to their review counts.
  • Tours with few reviews are pulled toward the average until more reviews come in, so a handful of perfect reviews can't top the list.
  • The result is shown from 0 to 10: this tour scores 6.4.
