Explore the Colosseum, Roman Forum, and Palatine Hill on a guided Rome tour filled with stories of gladiators, emperors, and ancient life.

About this tour

Step into ancient Rome on a guided visit to the Colosseum, Roman Forum, and Palatine Hill. Over 150 minutes, explore the Colosseum’s first and second levels while hearing stories of gladiators, emperors, and the crowds who filled the amphitheater. Continue through the Roman Forum, once the city’s political, religious, and commercial center, where temples, basilicas, and triumphal arches bring the past into view. Then walk across Palatine Hill, linked to Rome’s founding and later home to imperial palaces. This Rome Colosseum, Roman Forum & Palatine Hill Guided Tour offers a choice of experiences, including a private tour or an Arena upgrade where available. Arena access is not included in the standard option, and a Colosseum-only visit does not include the Forum or Palatine Hill, so check your selected option before booking. The route involves steps and uneven paths, making comfortable flat shoes a smart choice. Meet near the Roman Forum entrance and discover the landmarks that shaped the story of Rome.

How this score is calculated

This score is based on one provider. Viator rates it 3.81 from 58 reviews. We place that rating among all Viator ratings and weight it by its review count. If the tour is found on another provider later, both ratings are combined.

How the score works and rating distribution in Rome
  • Each provider rating is turned into a percentile: the share of that provider's ratings it beats, weighted by review counts.
  • Listings on different providers are combined in proportion to their review counts.
  • Tours with few reviews are pulled toward the average until more reviews come in, so a handful of perfect reviews can't top the list.
  • The result is shown from 0 to 10: this tour scores 5.0.
