Walk the Colosseum arena floor, explore the Roman Forum, and take in sweeping ancient-city views from Palatine Hill with an expert guide.

About this tour

Step through the Gladiator’s Gate and onto the Colosseum arena floor, where the scale of ancient Rome comes into focus beneath the amphitheater’s towering tiers. On this guided Rome Colosseum tour, hear how the arena worked and picture the crowds that once filled its seats.

Continue to the second level for a view from the spectators’ perspective, then explore the Roman Forum, where pivotal events shaped Roman history. The experience concludes atop Palatine Hill, with a bird’s-eye view across the Forum and Circus Maximus. Reserved access and an expert English-speaking guide bring context to each stop, while audio headsets help you follow the commentary. Choose from group sizes of up to 10, 15, or 25 visitors, depending on the option selected.

Meet your coordinator at Largo Gaetana Agnesi, above the Colosseo metro station. Book this Rome Colosseum tour to explore the arena, Forum, and Palatine Hill in one memorable visit.

How this score is calculated

This score is based on one provider. Viator rates it 4.52 from 351 reviews. We place that rating among all Viator ratings and weight it by its review count. If the tour is found on another provider later, both ratings are combined.

How the score works and rating distribution in Rome
  • Each provider rating is turned into a percentile: the share of that provider's ratings it beats, weighted by review counts.
  • Listings on different providers are combined in proportion to their review counts.
  • Tours with few reviews are pulled toward the average until more reviews come in, so a handful of perfect reviews can't top the list.
  • The result is shown from 0 to 10: this tour scores 5.0.
