Explore the Colosseum, Palatine Hill, and Roman Forum with a licensed guide on a relaxed, three-hour small-group tour of ancient Rome.

About this tour

Step into the world of gladiators, emperors, and ancient public life on a Rome Colosseum Tour with Palatine Hill and Roman Forum. Over three hours, a licensed guide leads a small group through three landmarks that shaped the story of Rome, sharing expert insights along a carefully planned route. Begin inside the Colosseum, where stories of spectacles and Roman engineering bring the arena to life. Continue to Palatine Hill, the city’s legendary birthplace and setting for imperial palaces, then descend into the Roman Forum, once the center of politics, religion, and everyday life. Headsets help you follow the guide, while the relaxed pace leaves room for questions and a closer look at each site. The standard ticket covers the Colosseum, Palatine Hill, and Roman Forum; arena floor access is not included unless selected for an additional fee. An external-visit option views the sights from outside and does not include Colosseum entry. Choose the option that suits your plans and discover ancient Rome with a guide who makes its history vivid.

How this score is calculated

This score is based on one provider. Viator rates it 4.74 from 34 reviews. We place that rating among all Viator ratings and weight it by its review count. If the tour is found on another provider later, both ratings are combined.

How the score works and rating distribution in Rome
  • Each provider rating is turned into a percentile: the share of that provider's ratings it beats, weighted by review counts.
  • Listings on different providers are combined in proportion to their review counts.
  • Tours with few reviews are pulled toward the average until more reviews come in, so a handful of perfect reviews can't top the list.
  • The result is shown from 0 to 10: this tour scores 6.8.
