About this tour

Step ashore from your cruise and spend a full day among Rome’s storied landmarks. This Rome full-day discovery tour from Civitavecchia pairs convenient port transfers with a guided look at the city’s most memorable sights.

Travel into Rome in comfortable, air-conditioned transportation with a professional driver. See the Colosseum, explore the remains of Trajan’s Forum, and take in the Pantheon and Saint Peter’s Basilica. At the Trevi Fountain, pause to admire its sculpted details, then wander the lively streets and enjoy free time in the city center. A licensed English-speaking guide leads the tour unless you choose the self-guided option. The itinerary order can shift with traffic or crowds, but all listed destinations are scheduled to be visited.

The excursion includes port pickup and drop-off, a guaranteed timely return, and 24/7 customer support. Expect significant walking, and note that the shore-stop schedule does not leave time to explore landmark interiors. How this score is calculated

This score is based on one provider. Viator rates it 4.08 from 13 reviews. We place that rating among all Viator ratings and weight it by its review count. If the tour is found on another provider later, both ratings are combined.

How the score works and rating distribution in Rome
  • Each provider rating is turned into a percentile: the share of that provider's ratings it beats, weighted by review counts.
  • Listings on different providers are combined in proportion to their review counts.
  • Tours with few reviews are pulled toward the average until more reviews come in, so a handful of perfect reviews can't top the list.
  • The result is shown from 0 to 10: this tour scores 6.4.
