Explore Rome’s Jewish underground history by flashlight on a private viewing led by a licensed guide from the city’s Jewish community.

About this tour

Step beneath Rome’s streets for a private encounter with the city’s Jewish history. This 120-minute Rome Jewish Catacomb private viewing gives you exclusive access to an archaeological site that is not open to the public, creating an intimate setting for exploration by flashlight.

A licensed English-speaking guide from Rome’s Jewish community leads the visit, sharing insight into the site and its history as you move through the underground space. The private format offers a rare chance to experience the catacombs away from public crowds. The entrance ticket costs €120 and is paid separately. Because the catacombs have no fixed opening time, contact your guide after booking to confirm when your tour will begin. Public transportation options are available nearby, but private transportation is not included.

If you’re ready to discover a lesser-seen chapter of the city, book your Rome Jewish Catacomb private viewing and explore its underground history with a local guide.

How this score is calculated

This score is based on one provider. Viator rates it 5.00 from 5 reviews. We place that rating among all Viator ratings and weight it by its review count. If the tour is found on another provider later, both ratings are combined.

How the score works and rating distribution in Rome
  • Each provider rating is turned into a percentile: the share of that provider's ratings it beats, weighted by review counts.
  • Listings on different providers are combined in proportion to their review counts.
  • Tours with few reviews are pulled toward the average until more reviews come in, so a handful of perfect reviews can't top the list.
  • The result is shown from 0 to 10: this tour scores 7.4. Top 28% in Rome means it ranks in the top 28% of tours in Rome by this score.
