Visit Padre Pio’s churches and crypt, then explore the Sanctuary of Archangel Michael on a private tour from Rome with lunch included.

About this tour

Travel from Rome to San Giovanni Rotondo, the town closely associated with Padre Pio, then continue to Monte Sant’Angelo to visit the Sanctuary of Archangel Michael. This private tour brings together two important pilgrimage sites in southern Italy, with a private chauffeur and tour leader to make the journey more comfortable.

In San Giovanni Rotondo, visit the Church of Santa Maria delle Grazie, the Church of San Pio (Chiesa Grande), and St. Pio’s Museum. You’ll also visit the crypt that hosts his body. At Monte Sant’Angelo, enter the sanctuary dedicated to Archangel Michael, whose grotto dates to the 5th–6th centuries. A fixed-menu lunch is included, and you can choose your tour leader’s language at checkout.

With private transportation, included site entrances, and time at each sacred destination, this Rome Padre Pio and St. Michael private tour offers a convenient way to explore places of deep religious and historical significance. Remember to cover your knees and shoulders at religious sites, and share any dietary needs when booking.

How this score is calculated

This score is based on one provider. Viator rates it 5.00 from 20 reviews. We place that rating among all Viator ratings and weight it by its review count. If the tour is found on another provider later, both ratings are combined.

How the score works and rating distribution in Rome
  • Each provider rating is turned into a percentile: the share of that provider's ratings it beats, weighted by review counts.
  • Listings on different providers are combined in proportion to their review counts.
  • Tours with few reviews are pulled toward the average until more reviews come in, so a handful of perfect reviews can't top the list.
  • The result is shown from 0 to 10: this tour scores 8.0. Top 13% in Rome means it ranks in the top 13% of tours in Rome by this score.
