Rome Papal Basilicas Tour 4 hr

Discover Rome’s papal heritage on a four-hour tour of three landmark basilicas. Travel by deluxe vehicle with an English-speaking driver and a professional guide as you explore St. John Lateran, Saint Mary Major, and St. Paul Outside the Walls.

At St. John Lateran, Rome’s cathedral and the oldest church in the Western world, see treasures that include the original doors of the Roman Curia. The nearby Scala Sancta, or Holy Stairs, are traditionally believed to be the steps Jesus climbed before his trial. At Saint Mary Major, take in mosaics depicting scenes from Mary’s life and learn about the relic of Christ’s manger. Finish at the vast Basilica of St. Paul Outside the Walls, founded at the apostle’s burial site.

This guided Rome Papal Basilicas Tour brings centuries of religious history and remarkable architecture into one visit. During the Jubilee Year, increased crowds and security checks may mean longer waits, and entry without a line cannot be guaranteed. Explore these enduring landmarks with a guide who can bring their stories into focus.
