Travel from Rome to Pompeii for a guided visit, then enjoy a flexible day choosing between Sorrento and Positano on the Amalfi Coast.

About this tour

Leave Rome behind for a full-day journey to Pompeii and the Amalfi Coast. With private transportation in an air-conditioned vehicle, you can take in the changing scenery on the way south and enjoy a flexible day among some of Italy’s best-known sights.

At Pompeii, explore the Scavi with an English-speaking licensed guide on a 1.5-hour tour; entrance tickets are included. Then continue to the Amalfi Coast, where your driver will ask whether you would prefer to visit Sorrento or Positano. You can decide during the day rather than locking in the schedule beforehand. Along the way, make time for southern Italian flavors, from pizza and local sweets to limoncello; lunch is not included.

How this score is calculated

This score is based on one provider. Viator rates it 5.00 from 4 reviews. We place that rating among all Viator ratings and weight it by its review count. If the tour is found on another provider later, both ratings are combined.

How the score works and rating distribution in Rome
  • Each provider rating is turned into a percentile: the share of that provider's ratings it beats, weighted by review counts.
  • Listings on different providers are combined in proportion to their review counts.
  • Tours with few reviews are pulled toward the average until more reviews come in, so a handful of perfect reviews can't top the list.
  • The result is shown from 0 to 10: this tour scores 7.3. Top 31% in Rome means it ranks in the top 31% of tours in Rome by this score.
