Travel from Rome to Pompeii for a guided ruins walk, then enjoy Positano’s colorful lanes and Amalfi Coast scenery.

About this tour

Leave Rome behind for a private day trip that pairs the ancient streets of Pompeii with the coastal charm of Positano. Your driver meets you at your Rome hotel or accommodation and takes you south in a private vehicle.

In Pompeii, join a qualified Blue Badge guide for an approximately two-hour walk through the remarkably preserved ruins. Buried by Mount Vesuvius in 79 AD, this UNESCO World Heritage site offers a vivid glimpse of life in the ancient city. After your visit, continue to the Amalfi Coast and enjoy time to wander Positano’s narrow lanes, browse colorful shops, and take in the scenery. There is also time for a lunch stop and a gelato or coffee break before the return drive to Rome. Meals and drinks are not included.

How this score is calculated

This score is based on one provider. Viator rates it 5.00 from 2 reviews. We place that rating among all Viator ratings and weight it by its review count. If the tour is found on another provider later, both ratings are combined.

How the score works and rating distribution in Rome
  • Each provider rating is turned into a percentile: the share of that provider's ratings it beats, weighted by review counts.
  • Listings on different providers are combined in proportion to their review counts.
  • Tours with few reviews are pulled toward the average until more reviews come in, so a handful of perfect reviews can't top the list.
  • The result is shown from 0 to 10: this tour scores 7.2. Top 40% in Rome means it ranks in the top 40% of tours in Rome by this score.
