Explore Pompeii, then drive the Amalfi Coast and choose a visit to Sorrento or Positano on this full-day trip from Rome.

About this tour

Discover ancient history and coastal scenery on a Rome Pompeii and Amalfi Coast tour. Travel in an air-conditioned vehicle with a professional driver, who shares explanations about the places you’ll see and helps you navigate the day. At Pompeii, explore the remarkable archaeological site at your own pace; admission is not included, and a private guide can be arranged for an additional cost.

Continue along the Amalfi Coast, with a choice of visiting Sorrento or Positano. Your driver can recommend local restaurants if you’d like to enjoy a traditional Mediterranean meal. Bottled water is provided, and the flexible stop lets you shape the coastal part of the day around your interests. The driver does not enter sites with you, so plan to explore them independently unless you arrange a private guide.

Spend a full day moving from Pompeii’s ancient streets to the coast’s celebrated towns. Choose Sorrento or Positano and make the most of your Rome Pompeii and Amalfi Coast tour.

How this score is calculated

This score is based on one provider. Viator rates it 4.80 from 5 reviews. We place that rating among all Viator ratings and weight it by its review count. If the tour is found on another provider later, both ratings are combined.

How the score works and rating distribution in Rome
  • Each provider rating is turned into a percentile: the share of that provider's ratings it beats, weighted by review counts.
  • Listings on different providers are combined in proportion to their review counts.
  • Tours with few reviews are pulled toward the average until more reviews come in, so a handful of perfect reviews can't top the list.
  • The result is shown from 0 to 10: this tour scores 7.1.
