Explore Pompeii with a private guide, then enjoy Positano and Sorrento on a 14-hour journey from Rome in a private Mercedes.

About this tour

Leave Rome behind for a full-day journey through Campania, pairing the ancient streets of Pompeii with the coastal villages of Positano and Sorrento. This 14-hour Rome Pompeii and Amalfi Coast Tour travels in a private, air-conditioned Mercedes with an English-speaking driver, giving you a comfortable way to experience several highlights in one day.

At Pompeii, a dedicated guide leads your party on a two-hour walk through the ruins. The entrance ticket costs €15 per person and is not included. Continue to Positano, the heart of the Amalfi Coast, where you can take in the village at your own pace. Then stroll through Sorrento before heading back to your accommodation in Rome, with arrival expected by 9 pm. Bottled water and private transportation are included. Lunch is not included; a local trattoria can be suggested, or you can pick up food while exploring Positano or Sorrento.

How this score is calculated

This score is based on one provider. Viator rates it 5.00 from 12 reviews. We place that rating among all Viator ratings and weight it by its review count. If the tour is found on another provider later, both ratings are combined.

How the score works and rating distribution in Rome
  • Each provider rating is turned into a percentile: the share of that provider's ratings it beats, weighted by review counts.
  • Listings on different providers are combined in proportion to their review counts.
  • Tours with few reviews are pulled toward the average until more reviews come in, so a handful of perfect reviews can't top the list.
  • The result is shown from 0 to 10: this tour scores 7.7. Top 18% in Rome means it ranks in the top 18% of tours in Rome by this score.
