Explore Pompeii with a private guide, then take in Amalfi Coast views and visit Positano on a day trip from Rome.

About this tour

Travel from Rome into the past at Pompeii, then continue to the dramatic scenery of the Amalfi Coast and Positano. This private day trip pairs a guided visit to one of the world’s best-preserved archaeological sites with time to admire the coast.

At Pompeii, a licensed professional guide leads a private, 2-hour tour through the ancient city, buried by Mount Vesuvius in 79 AD. Walk among the Forum, Baths, Lupanare, House of the Faun, and plaster casts as your guide brings the ruins to life. Then travel toward the Amalfi Coast for sweeping views, with Positano as the final stop. Built into a mountainside that slopes toward the beach, the town offers a striking coastal setting.

Private transportation connects the stops, with a 7-seater SUV for groups of up to five and a van for larger parties. Choose this Rome Pompeii and Positano tour for a day that brings ancient history and coastal scenery together.

How this score is calculated

This tour has no TourTruth score yet: Viator doesn't show a usable rating for it. It gets a score as soon as a provider lists one.

How the score works
  • Each provider rating is turned into a percentile: the share of that provider's ratings it beats, weighted by review counts.
  • Listings on different providers are combined in proportion to their review counts.
  • Tours with few reviews are pulled toward the average until more reviews come in, so a handful of perfect reviews can't top the list.
  • The result is shown from 0 to 10. Tours without a usable provider rating are not scored.
