About this tour

Discover two remarkable chapters of Italian history on a private journey from Rome to Pompeii and the Royal Palace of Caserta. With a private chauffeur, luxury transportation, and professional guides at both sites, you can focus on the stories and scenery along the way.

Walk through Pompeii, the ancient town buried by the eruption of Mount Vesuvius in 79 A.D. Your guide brings its archaeological remains to life, sharing the story of a city rediscovered centuries after the disaster. Then explore the Royal Palace of Caserta, a vast Bourbon residence commissioned by King Charles VII and designed by architect Luigi Vanvitelli. Its grand rooms and extensive royal gardens reveal the scale of a palace conceived to rival Versailles. A golf cart tour offers a convenient way to see the gardens.

This private Pompeii and Royal Palace of Caserta tour from Rome combines guided visits, admission tickets, and private transport in one day of discovery. Choose your guide language at checkout and experience these extraordinary landmarks with personal attention.

How this score is calculated

This tour has no TourTruth score yet: Viator doesn't show a usable rating for it. It gets a score as soon as a provider lists one.

How the score works
  • Each provider rating is turned into a percentile: the share of that provider's ratings it beats, weighted by review counts.
  • Listings on different providers are combined in proportion to their review counts.
  • Tours with few reviews are pulled toward the average until more reviews come in, so a handful of perfect reviews can't top the list.
  • The result is shown from 0 to 10. Tours without a usable provider rating are not scored.
