Explore the Colosseum with a private guide, choosing between the Regular Levels or Arena Floor, plus independent Forum and Palatine Hill entry.

About this tour

Explore the Colosseum on a private 60-minute guided tour, choosing the access that suits your visit. With the Regular Levels option, follow your expert guide through the main visitor levels and take in views over the Arena Floor. Prefer to stand where ancient spectacles unfolded? Choose the Arena option to enter through the Gladiator’s Gate and step onto the Arena Floor. Each option includes a different area: Arena access is not part of the Regular Levels ticket, and the Regular Levels are not included with the Arena option. Neither option includes the Underground or Upper Levels. Your ticket also provides unguided entry to the Roman Forum and Palatine Hill, ready to explore independently after the Colosseum visit. Headsets help you hear your guide clearly as you move through the monument. Meet at the green kiosk outside Colosseo metro station, Line B, 30 minutes before departure. Bring ID matching the names on your booking and allow time for security checks. Choose your preferred access and discover the Colosseum with a private guide.

How this score is calculated

This score is based on one provider. Viator rates it 5.00 from 18 reviews. We place that rating among all Viator ratings and weight it by its review count. If the tour is found on another provider later, both ratings are combined.

How the score works and rating distribution in Rome
  • Each provider rating is turned into a percentile: the share of that provider's ratings it beats, weighted by review counts.
  • Listings on different providers are combined in proportion to their review counts.
  • Tours with few reviews are pulled toward the average until more reviews come in, so a handful of perfect reviews can't top the list.
  • The result is shown from 0 to 10: this tour scores 8.0. Top 14% in Rome means it ranks in the top 14% of tours in Rome by this score.
