Explore the Colosseum’s ground and first floors with a private guide, plus access to the Roman Forum and Palatine Hill.

About this tour

Explore ancient Rome on a private Colosseum tour led by a local guide. Over 150 minutes, visit the Colosseum’s ground and first floors, then use your included access to the Roman Forum and Palatine Hill. Your guide focuses on the Colosseum, giving you a more personal way to discover the landmark at the heart of Rome’s history.

Meet outside Colosseo Metro station at Largo Gaetana Agnesi, where your guide will be holding a Roman Adventure Tours sign. Depending on the Colosseum’s availability, the tour may begin at the Roman Forum and Palatine Hill instead. The experience includes a Colosseum entrance ticket and reservation fee; the Forum and Palatine Hill are not guided as part of this tour. On designated free-entry days, your payment still covers the guided tour, reservation fees, and related services.

Choose your preferred language and experience a private Rome Colosseum tour with access to three iconic archaeological sites. Bring valid identification, and make sure booking names match each visitor’s ID. Book your visit to see the Colosseum and explore the surrounding ancient landmarks.

How this score is calculated

This score is based on one provider. Viator rates it 4.00 from 4 reviews. We place that rating among all Viator ratings and weight it by its review count. If the tour is found on another provider later, both ratings are combined.

How the score works and rating distribution in Rome
  • Each provider rating is turned into a percentile: the share of that provider's ratings it beats, weighted by review counts.
  • Listings on different providers are combined in proportion to their review counts.
  • Tours with few reviews are pulled toward the average until more reviews come in, so a handful of perfect reviews can't top the list.
  • The result is shown from 0 to 10: this tour scores 6.8.
