Leave Rome behind for Tivoli’s Renaissance gardens and imperial ruins on a private day trip with a local guide and transportation.

About this tour

Escape Rome for a day among the gardens, fountains, and ancient ruins of Tivoli. This private 7-hour trip pairs two remarkable UNESCO World Heritage Sites with the insight of a local guide and the ease of private transportation.

Begin at Villa d’Este, a celebrated Renaissance villa where greenery and fountains fill the grounds. Stroll through its expansive gardens and take in the atmosphere of a historic estate that remains one of Italy’s most striking sights. Then continue to Hadrian’s Villa, the vast country residence built for the 2nd-century emperor Hadrian. Explore its ruins and admire the water features and towering structures across the estate.

With entrance tickets and a guided visit included, this Rome private Tivoli villa tour makes it easy to experience both sites in one outing. Food and drinks are not included. Set aside a day to discover the artistry and history of Tivoli just beyond Rome.

How this score is calculated

This score is based on one provider. Viator rates it 4.62 from 21 reviews. We place that rating among all Viator ratings and weight it by its review count. If the tour is found on another provider later, both ratings are combined.

How the score works and rating distribution in Rome
  • Each provider rating is turned into a percentile: the share of that provider's ratings it beats, weighted by review counts.
  • Listings on different providers are combined in proportion to their review counts.
  • Tours with few reviews are pulled toward the average until more reviews come in, so a handful of perfect reviews can't top the list.
  • The result is shown from 0 to 10: this tour scores 6.6.
