About this tour

Make the most of your time ashore with a Rome shore excursion from Civitavecchia, pairing comfortable transportation with a guided look at the city’s celebrated landmarks. This 7-hour outing brings you to the Colosseum, the ancient Pantheon, St. Peter’s Basilica, the Trevi Fountain and Piazza Navona, with time to explore Rome’s lively city center.

A certified English-speaking guide leads the experience, while transport connects the cruise port with the capital. Choose between a semi-private option with pier pickup or a standard group option that meets outside the cruise terminal. The tour includes a timely return guarantee, a useful reassurance for cruise travelers working within a port schedule. Landmark interiors are not part of the visit, as the available time is limited.

Rome’s grand monuments and bustling streets make a memorable day ashore. Check your pickup details by email before departure, then set out to discover the highlights of Rome on this guided shore excursion.

How this score is calculated

This score is based on one provider. Viator rates it 4.69 from 13 reviews. We place that rating among all Viator ratings and weight it by its review count. If the tour is found on another provider later, both ratings are combined.

How the score works and rating distribution in Rome
  • Each provider rating is turned into a percentile: the share of that provider's ratings it beats, weighted by review counts.
  • Listings on different providers are combined in proportion to their review counts.
  • Tours with few reviews are pulled toward the average until more reviews come in, so a handful of perfect reviews can't top the list.
  • The result is shown from 0 to 10: this tour scores 6.9.
