See the Colosseum, Pantheon, Trevi Fountain, and more on a Rome shore excursion from Civitavecchia with port transport.

About this tour

Make the most of your time ashore with a Rome shore excursion from Civitavecchia, traveling from the cruise port into the city for a day among its celebrated landmarks. See the Colosseum, take in the ancient Pantheon, and visit the area around St. Peter’s Basilica. The route also brings you to Trevi Fountain and Piazza Navona, with time to wander Rome’s lively streets and enjoy the city center.

Comfortable transportation connects the port and the capital, and the tour offers a timely return guarantee. Choose from a semi-private tour with pier pickup, a standard group tour with pickup outside the cruise terminal, or a self-guided exploration option. A certified English-speaking guide accompanies the guided options. The schedule is designed for a cruise stop, so there is not enough time to explore landmark interiors; expect significant walking throughout the day.

See Rome’s best-known sights in one shore excursion, then return to Civitavecchia with time-conscious transport. Check your pickup details before setting out and choose the option that suits your day ashore.

How this score is calculated

This score is based on one provider. Viator rates it 4.47 from 36 reviews. We place that rating among all Viator ratings and weight it by its review count. If the tour is found on another provider later, both ratings are combined.

How the score works and rating distribution in Rome
  • Each provider rating is turned into a percentile: the share of that provider's ratings it beats, weighted by review counts.
  • Listings on different providers are combined in proportion to their review counts.
  • Tours with few reviews are pulled toward the average until more reviews come in, so a handful of perfect reviews can't top the list.
  • The result is shown from 0 to 10: this tour scores 6.1.
