Explore Siena’s medieval square and tower, then visit historic Monteriggioni on a 12-hour trip from Rome with hotel pickup.

About this tour

Leave Rome behind for a full-day journey through the medieval character of Siena and Monteriggioni. With an escort throughout the trip and hotel pickup and drop-off, you can focus on the scenery as you travel in an air-conditioned minivan or car, selected according to the number of passengers.

In Siena, stroll among medieval brick buildings and visit Piazza del Campo, the city’s striking fan-shaped central square. Look up to the Torre del Mangia, a slender 14th-century tower whose white battlements offer a memorable view. Continue to Monteriggioni, a historic stronghold once caught in fierce battles between Lucca and Pisa for control of the coast, and admire the surrounding landscape.

How this score is calculated

This score is based on one provider. Viator rates it 5.00 from 1 review. We place that rating among all Viator ratings and weight it by its review count. If the tour is found on another provider later, both ratings are combined.

How the score works and rating distribution in Rome
  • Each provider rating is turned into a percentile: the share of that provider's ratings it beats, weighted by review counts.
  • Listings on different providers are combined in proportion to their review counts.
  • Tours with few reviews are pulled toward the average until more reviews come in, so a handful of perfect reviews can't top the list.
  • The result is shown from 0 to 10: this tour scores 7.1. Top 48% in Rome means it ranks in the top 48% of tours in Rome by this score.
