About this tour

Trade Rome’s bustle for a full day among Tuscany’s medieval streets and hilltop views on a private trip to Siena and San Gimignano. With hotel pickup in central Rome and a professional English-speaking driver, you can enjoy the journey in a private vehicle and explore each destination at your own pace.

The drive from Rome to Siena takes about 2 hours and 40 minutes. Spend free time discovering the historic center, Piazza del Campo, and the Cathedral before continuing roughly an hour to San Gimignano. There, medieval towers rise above local shops and wine bars, offering a relaxed setting to wander and take in the town. The driver may share general commentary from inside the vehicle, but this experience does not include a guided tour unless a licensed guide is selected.

How this score is calculated

This score is based on one provider. Viator rates it 4.00 from 1 review. We place that rating among all Viator ratings and weight it by its review count. If the tour is found on another provider later, both ratings are combined.

How the score works and rating distribution in Rome
  • Each provider rating is turned into a percentile: the share of that provider's ratings it beats, weighted by review counts.
  • Listings on different providers are combined in proportion to their review counts.
  • Tours with few reviews are pulled toward the average until more reviews come in, so a handful of perfect reviews can't top the list.
  • The result is shown from 0 to 10: this tour scores 7.0.
