Explore Hadrian’s Villa and Villa d’Este on a private day trip from Rome, with admission tickets and comfortable transport included.

About this tour

Leave Rome behind for a day among ancient ruins and lavish gardens on this private Tivoli tour. Your driver picks you up in front of your accommodation, then takes you to Hadrian’s Villa, an expansive Roman retreat that once covered 250 acres. Explore its remarkable remains, including the Grand Thermal Bath, theater, villa pool, and artificial grotto, while imagining the palaces, temples, libraries, and courtyards that once filled the grounds.

Continue to the upper town of Tivoli and Villa d’Este, a 16th-century summer residence built for Cardinal Ippolito d’Este. Its Baroque gardens offer a striking change of scene, with elaborate fountains, clipped hedges, and maze-like paths. Private transportation, onboard WiFi, bottled water, and admission tickets to both villas are included, making it easy to focus on the sights. This Rome Tivoli Gardens Private Tour brings two very different chapters of Italian history together in one day. Book your Rome Tivoli Gardens Private Tour and discover the villas at your own pace.

How this score is calculated

This score is based on one provider. Viator rates it 5.00 from 2 reviews. We place that rating among all Viator ratings and weight it by its review count. If the tour is found on another provider later, both ratings are combined.

How the score works and rating distribution in Rome
  • Each provider rating is turned into a percentile: the share of that provider's ratings it beats, weighted by review counts.
  • Listings on different providers are combined in proportion to their review counts.
  • Tours with few reviews are pulled toward the average until more reviews come in, so a handful of perfect reviews can't top the list.
  • The result is shown from 0 to 10: this tour scores 7.2. Top 40% in Rome means it ranks in the top 40% of tours in Rome by this score.
